Maryl Kohl

Maryl Kohl, 200 hr. RYT

Maryl spent 30 years in the corporate world as a marketing professional and knows first-hand how workplace stress and other life challenges can compromise our physical and emotional well-being. The release she discovered from yoga was profound and flipped her life around. Now, as a yoga instructor, her goal is to help others feel their own transformation. Maryl completed 200-hour teacher training with the nationally recognized YogaWorks program in Seattle, under the guidance of Katherine Munro. She is certified in teaching Chair Yoga and is currently enrolled in Gentle Yoga training, looking forward to certification as well. She has two children, a cat, and is happy to have recently moved back to northern Michigan from the west coast!

PiYo is a fun, music-driven class that combines the strengthening benefits of Pilates with the flexibility and enhancing effects of yoga. It is a dynamic, energetic program that provides a full-body workout to burn calories, tone muscles, work on balance and get a great stretch. Each section of class has patterns, so learning is easy, and you build confidence with each class! Although It is high energy, the movements are low impact and adaptable to all ages and fitness levels. Join us!

The second half of the class will take us to the floor where we will focus on Yin postures. These poses are held longer, usually 2-5 minutes, allowing us to stretch the deep layers of the connective tissues. The perfect class to balance effort with ease!

In-Studio Beginner Plus

Beginner Plus is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga as well as those with some basic knowledge of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. All bodies are welcome.
