Jan Boettcher 200 hr. RYT

 

Jan is a certified Yoga instructor, completing her training in 2016, through Yen Yoga in Traverse City.  She is a certified SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Yoga instructor, completing her training in June 2016.  

Jan completed Chair Yoga training from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, in the belief that yoga is for everyone regardless of physical limitations.  

Jan's classes are designed to be accessible for all experience levels, while providing a safe and inviting environment in which to grow. 

 

Jan is a Registered Nurse who practiced 30 years at Munson Medical Center,  where she worked in the Rehabilitation Unit and Cardiology department.

As a Nurse, Jan enjoys teaching patients about the disease process and ways to cope both physically and spiritually, this made yoga a natural transition in her wellness approach.  

Jan has embraced the benefits of yoga through her studies and daily practice and hopes to assist others in achieving their goals on and off the mat.

Jan believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, physical limitations, or religious beliefs. Yoga philosophy and practice have helped deepen her own Christian faith and belief in interconnection between all people.

Beginner Plus is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga as well as those with some basic knowledge of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. All bodies are welcome.

Gentle Flow Yoga is geared specifically for those new to yoga or those who are interested in a gentle practice. This class incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility.

Zoom - Vin/Yin

This class will begin with a warm heart-opening vinyasa practice allowing prana or energy to begin flowing as we warm the body and awaken the mind while using our breath to guide our flow. The second half of the class will take us to the floor where we will focus on Yin postures. These poses are held longer, usually 2-5 minutes, allowing us to stretch the deep layers of the connective tissues. The perfect class to balance effort with ease!
