20+ year ACE-certified Group Fitness Instructor
Nancy has been an ACE-certified group fitness instructor since 1997 and has practiced and taught yoga for over 20 years. Her training includes various fitness-based yoga programs including PiYo and YogaFit. She is also trained in mat Pilates, low-intensity aerobic and HIIT classes, and resistance and strength training. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment for all students with a focus on aligning both body and mind while having fun!
As teaching is a passion, her style focuses on inclusion of all levels and learning styles, and incorporates verbal, visual, and imaginative cues. The community created within a studio can become an extended family. With that in mind, she believes that fitness can join self-care and awareness with encouragement and support between classmates.
Nancy and her family recently moved to the area full-time, but she spent several summers in northern Michigan as a teenager, and several more as a not-so-teenaged person. Hobbies include a recent interest in sewing, with a primary focus on projects that only require stitching in a straight line. Nancy also enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, honing her stick-throwing skills for their two Labrador retrievers who reciprocate with guidance on proper form for Downward-facing Dog. She loves volunteering and is excited to get involved in the community.
